Who am I?

Simplifying Your Day with Professional Virtual Assistance
Hello, I'm Alyssa Lapa. I live in Lexington, Kentucky. My home is in Arizona, but having lived across the country, my favorite place to return to is Galena, Illinois. I am a proud French fries connoisseur. Gardening relaxes me and the ASU Sun Devils are my tribe.

Since age sixteen, I've gained experience across various industries—retail, customer service, warehousing, and logistics. I even dabbled in the finance industry once or twice. My most recent role was in hospitality, helping businesses find accommodation for their traveling employees. Although I enjoyed my work, I felt unchallenged and knew it was my last position working for someone else.

I started looking into virtual work and work-from-home jobs back when I was living in Florida, wanting to find something that suited me better. I did not seriously look into the virtual assistant field until I got injured while working in a warehouse. Unfortunately, I will have tendinitis on both elbows probably for the rest of my life, but the experience of being on worker's compensation really opened my eyes to how quickly life can change. So, I began looking into it and as they say, "the rest is history." I tried to launch back in 2023, but life happened and I needed to focus on finishing school.

I'm still trying to figure it all out, but that's the beauty of working for myself. I can figure it out without having to answer to someone above me, take my time, and give my clients the service they deserve, because metrics and analytics are background noise that tell me who's visiting my website and clicking on my posts. Not how fast I'm finishing up a phone call or whether I'm too slow in wrapping up notes that are important to the work being done.
Horses?.. Horses.

Just a Task Away is designed to help small businesses and nonprofits across industries, with the main focus on the equine industry. Horses have been a part of my life in various capacities. I have owned, trained, and volunteered with horses at different stages of my life, and have loved being part of the community that revolves around these animals. I have experience in the Thoroughbred world and would love to assist with day-to-day operations. Many people who devote their lives to horses are not business-minded and often postpone administrative tasks indefinitely. People who get into the world of horses or animals, really, are not in it because they are business oriented, but because they want to help our furry friends. Late invoicing and overbooking are common issues that create major headaches, especially when boarding payments go missing, and you have to track them down—sometimes after the client has already left the barn. I want to help get this industry organized and take one piece of the business off their plate.
